philosophy and introspection as poetry

All human beings are blessed with the powers of observation.  Since observation is the basis of all philosophy, all human beings are potential philosophers.  In that sense, we are equal to any and all the great philosophers, both historical and contemporary.

What powers our observations?  Certainly the five senses do.  Out emotional interactions with other human beings, with the organic and inorganic world around us, and our interactions with concepts and the ‘beings’ that populate the unseen world each add their power to our observations.  Perhaps that is the difference between philosophers – some use only one or two senses, others skirt their interactions and deny the unseen world.

The Greek philosophers wrote through poetry, although theirs was by strict meter so it could be easily memorized.
